Here are 2 verses that spoke very clearly about practical application of faith.
But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
(1 Timothy 5:8 ESV)
1 Tim. 5:8 worse than an unbeliever. Provision for one's own family is a spiritual issue of utmost importance. Failure to live out the gospel in this way is tantamount to a denial of the faith.

The LORD said to Moses, "Why do you cry to me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward.
(Exodus 14:15 ESV)
The Lord told Moses to stop praying and get moving! Prayer must have a vital place in our lives, but there is also a place for action. Sometimes we know what to do, but we pray for more guidance as an excuse to postpone doing it. If we know what we should do, then it is time to get moving.
