Unconditional Election

Joshua 24:2 And Joshua said to all the people, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘Long ago, your fathers lived beyond the Euphrates, Terah, the father of Abraham and of Nahor; and they served other gods.

Why did God choose Israel? There are no particular reasons why God would choose Israel. They were not smarter or stronger; apparently they came OUT of a pagan environment. The idea of 'unconditional election' has been inferred into text of the Mosaic books, particularly Genesis and Exodus.

John 15:16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.

This verse explains itself, as opposed to the John 3:16 "whoever believes in him" theory.

and i haven't get to other texts yet...
