One of the most fascinating thing about racing is the tracks. Be it a street circuit or a built circuit, every racer needs to know each bend well in order to maximize their 'corner' opportunities, as well as knowing where they would most probably make mistakes. A wrong calculation may be disastrous - accidents , championship points or even lives may be at stake. I was 'enlightened' when the F1 racers had to take a ride round the Singapore street circuit on their bicycles just to study the track and its surroundings. They familiarized themselves with the track thoroughly.
Studying a bible passage is similar in a way. We need to read again and again and again, till we know every 'corner'. Every preposition may mean that the passage has taken a 'turn'. Do not underestimate the 'but nows' , 'yets', and the 'therefores' in a passage. The contrast will definitely bring the Word come to life - at least it did for me many times.
There is no better way than to learn the corners and the twist and turns of the bible well other than reading the bible repeatedly , meditatively , and prayerfully. Allow the Word and God to speak to you personally. And it will surely help you finish the race in life well - a far more important race than the one Hamilton and Raikkonen is fighting for.
